Kiewit-Kvaerner Contractors (KKC) was awarded the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) and Site Preparation contract for the Hebron GBS Project in November 2010.

KKC has undertaken a commitment to Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Benefits on the Hebron GBS Project, as per the Atlantic Accord Acts and the Hebron Benefits Agreement. This includes the following:

KKC is committed to providing first consideration for NL residents for employment. This includes advertising employment opportunities in local media and in regions where there is a high population of Newfoundland and Labrador residents, as well as utilizing processes to ensure first consideration in our HR procedures.

KKC is committed to developing initiatives and processes that encourage employment and business access for designated groups in the Project.

KKC is committed to delivering local benefits through R&D and E&T, as well as technology transfer.

On August 20th, 2008, The Hebron Project Co-venturers and the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador signed the Hebron Benefits Agreement. Hebron is a major project that will deliver significant benefits to Canada, particularly to Newfoundland and Labrador: engineering, fabrication and construction, employment and training, research and development opportunities. KKC, as one of the two prime contractors to ExxonMobil, the Operator of the Hebron Project, has undertaken a commitment to benefits in the execution of work on the Hebron GBS Project.
